Another newbie

Dunndeal here. I joined and donated at the suggestion of a friend of mine. I'm glad to be here.
My only firearm is a nickel plated Colt Python w/ 4" barrel but I'm about to purchase a home defense 12 gauge, most likely a Remington 870. The only other shotgun I looked at was a Mossberg 590 but it didn't seem to be as well made. Any thoughts?

Either the Mossberg 590 or the Remington 870 should serve you very well. There are a lot of aftermarket parts available for both models. Since you are already sounding like you are partial to the 870, get the 870 and don't look back.
