    Active members?

I see CGN has grown to 40000+ which is good. But I've always wondered. 12000+ or so currently are listed as active members? What does that mean? You have at least one post? You log in at least a certain amount of times in a certain time period?

I think the forum looks to see when's the last time someone logged in. Probably that's about it. There's probably a cutoff to determine who is active and who isn't. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, though.

Thanks, I have wondered that for some time. I also wonder why so many people join a forum and then never post even one time or even log in again?!

I think the cut off is a month, or at least that's how it is on my forums. So I'm not sure how cal guns is.

There are some who prefer to lurk, as opposed to actively participate. They log in regularly but only read, not post. Most of the posters are people who can't stand reading opinions without throwing in their own, so that's why you see some of the same contributors over and over

Not sure why someone would join, then never come back, though.

A LOT of people here just for the sales I know. And many just communicate by PM.

I help run a forum, and there are many people that want to post,
              but fear actually doing it,
people find a forum, register, then post one thing, and then forget about the forum, but sometimes if you email them, they will come back.
but many more just watch and read, but never register.

there are also people that use a forum to PM others to send illegal things so that there is no trace of who they really are on an email server or something, but this forum verifies by email before you can use the system, so I don't think that is happening here,
