greetings, just signed up five minutes ago. i am a collector of service rifles in san diego. so far, my collection is meager, but the pieces i do have are pretty decent, imho.
i am a nra member, as well as a member of project2000 in san diego. rso'd for a couple years when it was a fish&game operation. maybe you saw me there!
im looking to get into some friendly competition in high power sporting/service rifle disciplines. hope to find some allies here. and maybe a sponsor for lemon grove r&g club.
4th generation san diego native, electrician, japanese auto mechanic, superhero for fun and profit. oh, and i despise the 'shift' key, and all the capitalization associated with it.
thanks, in advance, for your help in my future quandries!

well here they are, from left to right.

remington 1903a3, nothing special, built in 1943.
mccoy garand. 7.62x51, h&r barrel, nm sights, nm trigger group, glass bedded, given a clean bill of health by mr mccoy himself a few years ago. love it, but hate to shoot it, as i dont want to take the stock off to clean it too often... shes a safe queen.
m1a, bought new, again nothing special. standard model, but got a bonus with a nm front blade, straight from the factory! (guess they ran out of the regular ones?) i think ill be competing with this gun when i can get out to the range (match coming up this sunday, hope i can make it.. wish me luck)
m1a socom16, aimpoint ml2. once again, nothing cool has been done to this gun. just got it the other day, used, from socalgun. shoots pretty well, just wish i could co-witness the sight with the.... sights.... hmm. moving right along.
my feeble attempt at a black rifle. kaiser lower, doublestar parts, bullet button, tangodown pistol grip, vltor emod stock, sabre m4 upper, chrome lined 1:7" barrel, yankee hill sights. quadrail and handgrip should be on my doorstep tomorrow. i think the aimpoint may shift to this gun, as i dont trust the ar for home defense, and dont trust those darn newfangled laserbeam scopes for quick deployment and intuitive accuracy. but this is the first red dot ive ever used, and shot with it one time, so maybe ill change my mind. but the ar would look way cooler with the aimpoint, right? thats what it's all about. looking cool.

thanks brother, ive been working on it for a while, got the garand about 7 years ago, then the 1903, and the rest just sort of showed up while i wasnt budgeting. i should have an upper for my second black rifle by the time the next paycheck friday rolls around.
this isnt the whole safe, just the pride and joy(excepting the usp compact, but it doesnt fit into the collection...). you can blame my family for getting me hooked early on.

It is amazing how I keep acquiring rifles. I sweat years ago I had one now I have over 50+. I am sure there are people on here with hundreds. I wonder where it will end for me sometimes. I hope for my sake it never does.
