Just taking the time to say hello to everyone. I finally registered after a couple of months lurking.
I'm fairly new to firearms but have occasionally shot with friends at local ranges here in SoCal. I've been "taught" a few things about guns by friends, but reading many of the posts here, I think my gun IQ has increased dramatically in these past months.
They have been urging me to pick up a gun for myself for the last 2 years and finally got the OK from the wife recently. So while she was feeling generous I took advantage and picked up a Ruger AR556 at Riflegear last month and crossing my fingers on a Colt O1070XSE XSE Government model that I plan to DROS either today or tomorrow.
Hope to learn more and maybe someday be able to contribute to this forum.
