So....I was a member here a long time ago as JackDaniels....I retired here in Komifornia last year because my better half has a great job and I started working for the Marine Base as well. I failed miserably to set myself up for success when I retired, I feel as though I am financially marooned here, upside down on the house, taxes etc. I couldn't believe that Komifornia wants ~13% of my military retirement, I just don't think they deserve it, what have they done to deserve it?....after some long discussions with the wife, we agreed to a five year plan to get out of Komifornia. Well it is coming to fruition faster than we thought, my wife was offered a job with promotion and pay raise, I have also gotten two firm job offers for federal jobs in Texas. I went out there two weeks ago for interviews and to scout the area. The loss I take on the house will be well worth it. I went to a gun show in Temple, TX, and can you believe it they had GUNS!!!!!. Also Texas doesn't tax any of my retirement income, gas is way cheaper, etc.
