Request/Question: How to exclude certain subforums from the New Posts results?

I have no interest in certain forums showing results in the New Posts search. How do I select which subforums show in those results?

If it cannot be done currently, please consider adding/enabling it as a feature. vBulletin is certainly capable of it.

That would be AWESOME. On smaller forums, the New Posts link is usable, but on a site like Calguns I find that it produces way too many results (for the time I limit myself to the forum) A huge portion of that is the Off-Topic subforum...even eliminating that alone would be awesome!

Ask for bans from said sub forums ? Maybe they won't pop up.

You have to create your own link. Use 'exclude' as a keyword. Alternately you can use 'include' with a list of subforums you WANT to read. I posted about this a couple of years ago. Search my name and exclude for more info.

Mods: Dean's solution works for browsers, but not for Tapatalk. Please consider making this a standard feature of the forum so that plugins such as Tapatalk can utilize it as well. Seems silly to me to so heavily moderate certain sections and still require those of us who have no interest/don't want to be baited/don't want to mistakenly post in sections for fear of ban to see those areas. Thanks.

Replace the numbers with whatever forum it is you don't want to show up.

That'll work with a browser but not tapatalk.

Could also ask mods for a ban as was suggested.

Yup, plenty of dudes are banned from OT and or the 2a politics section but have access elsewhere.

Although, there's no guarantee mods will honor your request. Polite request might do it though.

Also keep in mind bigj that I don't think the intent of that forum was to single out faith as more important than any other topic but a way to settle down the craziness of faith discussions in ot. So it kinda was just an unintended consequence that ticks you off but had benefits to the community at large.
