Perhaps Fewer Signature Lines

I'm trying to read other people's post and I keep getting caught up in multiple lines of someone's personal BS "signature" that takes up more space than their single-line post!

People...realize something, the rest of the world is NOT as impressed with you as YOU are! The idea here is to exchange knowledge and experience, not deliver your personal diatribe with each post...whenever I see such foolishness I just keep scrolling...which means whatever you had to say has been ignored thanks to your self-serving "signature" posts that take up 5 or more lines.

Well actually I think the first line in my signature is pretty important and it should be informative and/or important to everyone on this board.

You probably would have received better responses to your post if you would have came about it a little better. You are my new signature for today and tactical doggy picture has been added. Enjoy.

I largely agree -- particularly when some seem to have the need to list their gun collections. On the other than it does give some insight into the person and hence the post.

Recently, the signatures and turtle antics
(although an updated turtle gif would be really appreciated, maybe a half pipe stunt)
have been more entertaining than most people's thoughts.

I think the sigs are the best part of the forum they crack me up on a daily basis. I totally agree with Pauliedad sometimes the sigs are better than what the person has to say or their thoughts! Case and point having to look at this posting maybe we should make a post about how irritating it is to see complaint posts that could be fixed by using the forums control settings. I mean maybe if someone spent their time checking out the site setting options or asking questions in a friendly manner where they might get actual results and viable solutions to their problem instead of posting to complain about them might be a better option.

Start a post talking crap and you will likely receive crap.

It's not the same as asking "Hey guys the signatures bug me or a certain posters signature annoys me. Is there a way I can block it or them? "

Also OP. In the site settings there is an ignore feature where you can block out seeing anything a certain member posts.

first step to join ANY forum. Turn signatures off. It also levels the playing field, as some guy who claims he's a master gunsmith and God's gift to whatever in his signature reads the same as someone with no signature at all.

I also turn off avatars immediately.

Pages load faster.
