Congratulations to Calgunner with the user name GayGuns for making the Glendale Paper in support of saving the Glendale Gun Show and standing up for his 2A rights!

Enjoying my morning coffee and reading the paper this morning I was very happy to see so many out in support of the Glendale Gun Show.

A big thank you for all that were there making your voices heard and drowning out the Anti-Gunners.

And Marc from gayswithguns.net, I and many other Calgunners wish you the best with your organization and want to thank you for your patience and determination. You are a welcome ally in this fight!

Good stuff.

However, everyone mostly talks of this infringing on the 2nd Amendment, which true is the bent, but I see it as just as great an infringement on the 1st Amendment if not more so, of the right of the people to assemble peacefully; and it's not just about "commerce" or the sales of goods under business ordinances.

If other groups will still have the right to access the Glendale Civic Auditorium to have:

• Antique-and-Arts show,
• Bake-sales, Kitsch-and-Crafts shows,
• Doll shows,
• Homewares shows,
• Coin-collector shows,
• a "Vintage Paper" show (hey, maybe Glendale City Council could buy a copy of the US Constitution at this one), http://www.vintagepaperfair.com/glendale.html
• Sports/Fitness/Health Expos
• Cultural Festivals where trinkets and food are sold

...and any other gathering where items are also sold, traded, or merely shown, then the Gun Show must equally be allowed under the First Amendment.

Thanks to ALL the people on CalGuns, for their incredible encouragement and support! 99% of the support here on CalGuns has been overwhelmingly positive, many of whom have literally bulldozed back when a couple people were throwing some flames.

In fact -- had it not been so supportive I may not have had the courage to walk into a group of people whom have, as you know, been so stereotypically played out by the media as Angry old, conservative, minority hating white men. Or as my fear liked to tell me 'into the Lion's Den.

There was not one person all day who had an angry or snide thing to say. Heck, not even a glare or snicker for that matter!! Quite the opposite. NRA Westside as well as Oathkeepers went out of their way to put their hand out with a warm welcome.

I also need to even stop here and say thank you to those people who aren't too thrilled about Gays with Guns. It's from the resistance that helps me go 'within' and question my message. Hence I have tried to refine and tailor that message to be as non-threatening as possible, moreover --to speak what our true intent is, which is strictly speaking, only for the 2 amendment --NOT about some Gay agenda of co-opting an issue as another platform for 'them' to heard. The unfortunate dichotomy here is that we have to use labels (Gay) to defeat the other labels (Angry old, white men... blah blah blah) that the media is constantly banging their tinny drum, both covertly AND overtly beating into America's psyche. In other words --"Overcoming Labels with Labels."

And, then too --it's often through the resistance that we learn patience and tolerance. Or the precious little I might think I have..

Gays With Guns is not about classifying people as different --it’s about reaching out to a minority demographic who might not be viewed as pro 2nd Amendment. We believe the 2nd is vitally important to our civil liberties; our self-defense and our peace of mind. Gun Rights Are Civil Rights!

Keep up the good fight! I'm so glad to find the Calguns community is such a supportive group of people. I am always pleased to meet Calgunners when I'm at local events. Especially in the current anti-gun climate, it is great that we can all stand united.
