Just like it sounds. Doing searches, it seems to only go back a couple of months, whereas before, it would go all the way back to 2004 or so.

YES, I've checked the search settings to include "any date" or a up to a year, tried the Advance Search feature, played with the variables, etc. Still only seems to go back no further than a few months.

It's very defeating. You can no longer realistically tell some one to use the "Search Button".

Even using Google doesn't seem to bring up older threads. Was there an acrhiving/server swap issue that took stuff more than a year old out of the loop?

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

If I remember correct they where upgrading the database after some down time and for some reason searches don't turn up as far back as they used to.

      Drop this into google:

site:calguns.net whatever you are looking for

      It works well.

Yep; that's what I've been doing, but it seems like it is not revealing the majority of existing content as the internal search did.
