here's the thing... it's very difficult to sell for less than the going rate - for two reasons; you can't replace it for the same cost and the buyer likely will sell it at a higher price.
I've seriously considered selling some of my stash... but I'm always fair, and since I wouldn't buy at current prices, I'm not going to sell at current prices (unless I get desperate for cash).
So unless it's someone I know personally - I'm just keeping what I have. If SHTF and the guy next to me is out of ammo, I'll stock him up.
For those without supplies - just save what you have and wait for what you need... it won't be priced this high forever (but will never go down to what is was before).
IF you absolutely can't wait - you're gonna have to pay the price (but I wouldn't).
Interestingly though - not long before the panic, many of us were talking about how we are addicted to ammo... always buying when on sale and never stopping (even when we didn't need it)... I guess it was a premonition?"Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J. TrumpComment

So does your suggestion apply to vendors only? I may not have any overhead, but it doesn't make sense to sell my ammunition for less than it would cost me to replace it?
This came up very recently while negotiating a trade. Other party wanted me to trade my 5.56 at last year pricing. Unfortunately, it appears we didn't come to terms.Comment

i totally understand. im addressing the people selling a box of .22lr that usually goes for $20 and they are selling it for $50.....here's the thing... it's very difficult to sell for less than the going rate - for two reasons; you can't replace it for the same cost and the buyer likely will sell it at a higher price.

its not for me. ive been workin with other members to help them get ammo. i understand the ethics of a free market and the law of supply and demand. i have told members to pm me what ammo they need and if i find it ill buy it for them. all i do is mark it up 10% just for fuel. im just trying to help out the people who are just getting into buying firearms and ammo. All i was trying to accomplish is to find other members who were willing to help but its cool. people value making money over helping others. Market value is what the stores around you are charging.Comment

$20 box is now $22 i know such a rip off hahaComment

if someone wants 10 boxes they are paying an extra $20. Yes, to me that's a rip off.
if you are simply wanting gas money why not just have a flat fee? 10% of anything is a lot - especially when you are trying to help members find their way away from gouging.
