I have acquired a dedicated server (that sound like I either stole it or won it in a shady poker game) and am planning the timing on the next steps.
The process is, assuming we believe it is as simple as they make it sound:
Install the base forum software on the new server, shut the forum down and 'request a back up' from vBulletin which will basically be the database, upload the DB and make the necessary edits to config files to connect the software and DB, change the DNS settings to the new server, open the forum and wait for the DNS to propagate.
It sounds so simple doesn't it...
