    These server issues are ridiculous.

Ya know, I rarely complain about the server issues here on the board. But, this is ridiculous and bordering on ludicrous. I know the board is privately owned and I respect that.

The servers were moved a couple months back and we got updates as to some of the issues. Supposedly more servers were brought on line and it has been better. But the fact that the board times out and slows to a crawl every single night is extremely frustrating. If Geovario can't handle the traffic that this community generates then maybe it is time to find another company to host the board.

I agree mostly. I've been having trouble with the forums on 3 different computers, 4 different connections, and in 3 different locations.

As stated, forums is slow, times out, and I've also had several cannot connects, or page not found, etc...

What is the problem that needs to be fixed?

It would have took too long currently to make this post. Thank you. Mr Kestryll, this is not directed at you, but your hoster. Mcubed, fix this mess!

The problem that needs to be fixed is Geovario. You'd think that with the years of history of poor service that Kes would have fired them by now.

Oh and props to the OP for spelling ridiculous correctly.

Hosting and bandwidth are not free. Every time I login I see several new members have joined, and I login daily. Not sure if this is a traffic related issue, or sql query optimization issue but this does happen with growth of popular sites. Could also be some folks trying to slow the site down. In other words, it's not always the server platform itself. There are open source products that can be used to help in these configurations, they may already be deployed. APC, Memcache, Varnish are just a couple of the more common cache products. Sometimes tricky to implement on dynamic sites like this. Money helps too

Seems like more and more when I log on at night, I've ended up closing out in frustration shortly after due to the slowdown. Not sure if that means the servers need work or I need to prioritize my time better.

After the server change, things got a bit better. Now the second site wont load at all and this one is really slow again. Im sure they are aware and working on it.

Its fine for me during the day, sounds like its simply the amount of traffic at night and the server(s) that are trying to handle said traffic.

This site has grown incredibly over the years, it really doesnt surprise me to see lag. Oh well just gotta deal with it.
