I'm a fan. All we need to do now is push our advertisers to get sexier banners!

Sexy banners huh - what are the guidelines?
If animated banners are ok I may have to work on one of those.

Looks strange to me. I can appreciate the idea behind it.. but the top of the forums just look off now. Im well aware this is no beauty contest
I did like how it originally was setup.. simply because it looked much cleaner, and you had more sponsors shown - easily.
I would say to keep the setup you had before.. but use small banners, or some sort of immage... I suppose just like barfcom or even rimfirecentral which is setup like others have mentioned - 5 or so banners along with a link to see all sponsors.
I would say to put all our sponsors up at once - they will fit, and if there are more .. go with rimfirecentrals setupsigpic

Don't like it, preference would be go back to the original system, and make smaller boxes.
Because as it is now, I can never find the particular site, I want to go to. Therefore, I have to use my bookmarks anyway.

I like it. Gives color to the page.If you live in the Sacramento area, check your Local Forum frequently to see how you can help restore Gun Rights.

I know someone will notice and ask so I'll answer it ahead of time.
The randomly rotating banner ads on the bottom of the page are being tested as replacements for the text checkerboard up top.
Some forum members want to advertise up there and I don't really want to add more rows so this allows a finite space to hold infinite ads, in theory... (we need a 'worried' smilie)
For the advertisers some of these banners are either temp banners or ones I cobbled together from screenshots of your sites for testing.
Obviously if you have a banner you'd prefer to use let me know and we'll get it sized and replace the temp one.
I use Ad-Subtract so I don't see 'em

One thing you've probably already noticed Kestryll but I'll put it down anyway.
I'd suggest setting the ads to open in a new window so that it doesn't take people away from CalGuns.
SequoiaAlot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.
I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.Comment

I'm digging the new ads - much better than the old checkboard text ones. The aspect ratio looks distorted on teh Coldwar Shooters and Irvington Arms ... but looks fine on the Monsterman and City Arms ads. Much more attractive.Invented/From California: The Internet and Personal Computer, Google, iPod, Intel, Apple, AMD, NVIDIA, Gen Jimmy Doolittle, Stealth Technology, National Semiconductor, Tiger Woods, P-80 Shooting Star, Ronald Reagan, Fairchild, M-16, porn, Raquel Welch, Yahoo, super-sonic flight, Angelina Jolie, Gen. George S. Patton, the personal computer CPU, Gordon Moore, Clint Eastwood, Anti-Matter, Electronic Warfare, Bruce Lee, supersonic flight, ceramic body armor, Jim Morrison, ... and this post!Comment

I definitely like the new format over the prior, but I have a few requests.
Please remove animation from the ads. It just looks cheap, ugly, unprofessional and is distracting.
All of the ads look scaled wrong. Visually they look terrible. I would suggest using square boxes instead of wide banners. Have the advertisers make boxes at a set width/height... if they don't want to do it, they can always run a contest here for a free t-shirt, gift cert, whatever...
Defeating the display of ads by long-time users of this site is hardly going to cut into their revenue. How many of us don't know about the MMG, 10%, Riflegear.com, CWS? If we need to find a link, we'll use the advertiser's page.
I actually like the fact we have advertisers -- it makes it easy to point of for the newbies where to make their purchases, as the advertisers here are the good people who support our CA efforts.
