Private Market Section Needs Help

I am not an inexperienced computer user. I am not an idiot. However, the Private Market Section is not user friendly. Pictures are not easy to attach (and get to open), and using a 3rd party such as Photobucket is another exercise in frustration. I would suggest that Calguns update its software to be similiar with GunBroker, which I find to be a breeze to use. I'm sure folks are going to use "below in the line" replies as to why they can't or won't. But, if Calguns is serious about bringing people to it's website, then they should make it as user friendly as possible. Just ask Bill Gates how important it is to make it easy enough for everyone to use. I believe he made his fortune making computers people friendly.

Ok, let the excuse people jump in.

Copying and pasting the IMG Code from photobucket is an exercise in frustration?
Guns, dogs and home alarms. Opponents are all of a sudden advocates once their personal space is violated.

Why is it all the funny stuff happens to comedians?

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

Uploading to tinypic is hard? It takes ten seconds to upload and link a picture.

you get what you pay for

the FS section is free, but it doesn't have many features.
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.
Use the goog to search calguns

Not user friendly

Yep, there are those who can make it work, and there are those like myself who have problems with it. I can't make it work, so I'm frustrated. You all just don't seem to get that ! I can't make it work !

Gunbroker is just an example of something that is user friendly. I can make that one work just fine.

So Novabrian, Paul 0660, rkt88edmo, Joe, and Causal_Shooter, you have all made it work for you so you just stand back and say "what's the big deal". Thanks for nothing guys.

I disagree when it comes to the pictures argument.

If anything it could use some sort of grid for the thread listings that would have things like

DATE
ITEM
PRICE
LOCATION

Then when you click into it there is a description and pictures and the rest of the thread posts.
Don't let the name fool you...

I seriously suck with technology, and have a short temper, so I know where your coming from. I have found it pretty simple though, click on upload, then copy the link, then click on the pic icon, then paste, then done. Maybe you could shed light on the specific problems you are having?

I think any of the free gunboards have tutorials for adding pictures in a step by step explanation. I had trouble at first but it easy when you get used to it. Besides, this isnt Ebay . Information so much more important than a few PMAGS or telescoping stocks is just an easy click away.

In your first post you said

I am not an inexperienced computer user. I am not an idiot.
If you're whining about not being able to figure out how to upload a picture you are definitely a complete newbie to forums, computers, and the internet.

So let me help you out..
Learn to read the sticky's at the top of the for sale section. One clearly describe the process and holds your hand to help you through the process. The link can be found here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=86695

I personally use tiny pic to upload my pics. Before you say "thanks for nothing" maybe you should actually check out the website I linked. If you can't figure out tinypic, you are definitely an idiot. This is what you do

1)Go to www.tinypic.com
2)Press the button that says "Choose File"
3)Find the file you wish to upload and select it
4)Press button that says "UPLOAD NOW!"
5)Wait for file to upload
6)Locate the second box down that says "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards".
7)Highlight the link in that box, right click, and copy it
8)Go to your thread, right click, and paste

Done.

This shouldn't take more than 15 seconds.

You're welcome.

The info is posted as a sticky on the firearms section. Here you go: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=86695

Have a better attitude towards getting to know how to use a forum that you're new to, okay? Your handle is pretty much a giveaway, stick to Gunbroker if it's so much better...

We do upload the pics from our PC's. But instead of uploading it to calguns we upload it to a different photo hosting website.

No reason why, just because.
