I have noticed often that people will find a really good deal online or retail somehwere, and want to share it, but there is no good place for it since it does not really go in the for sale forum. I don't really think the handgun/rifle forums are the place for that.

How about a deals forum?

Yes, although it would have to be policed pretty heavily for shilling behaviour. Some of the "deal threads" have reeked of shilling over the past couple months. I mean c'mon, how many "excited customers" is a vendor likely to have, all of whom are "SO" excited about the product/price/vendor that they post what's more or less a for-sale thread in disguise?

But then you've got things like the "15 days of Bushmaster" threads, which were very plainly from folks with no association whatsoever.

Yeah, and even if we are going to have shill threads, I would at least like them in one place and out of the discussion forums.

Same here, in fact some people DID miss it, possibly because they did not check the forum it was in.

Good idea. Would Group Buys also be in the deals forum, or should GB have a separate dedicated forum?

I see it as being useless... It isn't very often when someone makes one of these threads, and opening another forum for it would only promote and encourage shilling...

I have to agree with Xeno although it has been happening more often.

The "not mine, killer deal, selling for a friend," etc. posts of late are annoying. More of a classified issue than anything.

That's exactly what the Deal forum would NOT be for, in fact the rules should state such. The deal must already be at a retail store, online store, or posted by another member on another forum.

I would like it if the shilling was moderated and the shiller got a time out.
