    Regional section

How about opening up regional sections for local events and announcements?
    Maybe something like:
    1) San Diego & metro
    2) LA & metro
    3) San Fran (do they really need one - since they have no guns? )
    4) Sacramento
    5) etc...

This has possibilities, let me think about it a bit.
Maybe as a forum with subforums in the Great Outdoors section...

I was going to create a new topic to suggest this, but I thought I'd bring back this old one instead.

On another gun forum I frequent, which is more nationally focused, there are regional forums for all 50 states. I like this feature a lot, because it makes it a lot easier find other forum members that live in my state. I can also ask state-specific questions and get answers for them fairly quickly (though not as quickly as if I post here, of course ). I think the idea of state-specific subforums would translate well to region-specific subforums, particularly in regards to the smaller areas outside of Central and Southern CA.

Sure, you can just create a new topic in the general discussion area every time you have a region-specific question, event posting, etc. But with all of the traffic this site's getting, there's a chance that people would miss it. With regional sections, you would only have to look in the section that covers your area, and you wouldn't need to sift through all other topics that don't apply to you.

You know what I think. Too many forums already. There's nothing to be discussed in regional forums that can't be discussed elsewhere.

I don't know, it could have some merit. I only know one or two of the San Diego Calguns members, and even them I know only casually. Would be neat to be able to say "hey, going shooting if anyone wants to go to meet, shoot, and maybe grab a lunch & beer afterward" without having the whole forum go read it only to be disappointed it's not their area. It seems it would be almost purely a social aspect of the forum though, so perhaps not of value to everyone.

Can we call the central valley area "Real California"?
