Minimum 72 hour notice. If you don't log on in 3 days then you don't visit enough to care.^^^The above is just an opinion.

"...which from their verbosity, their endless tautologies, their involutions of case within case, and parenthesis within parenthesis, and their multiplied efforts at certainty by saids and aforesaids, by ors and by ands, to make them more plain, do really render them more perplexed and incomprehensible, not only to common readers, but to lawyers themselves. Just something to consider...this may not be applicable to your business model but my businesses perform maintenance on our websites during holidays. Traffic drops dramatically and since we rely on these sites for daily revenue...we want the least financial impact possible. Three day weekends are what we look for.Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.Comment

For a business business that makes sense. This is a conversation forum. I bet activity increases on weekends and holidays.

I voted for a weekend despite the fact that I am replying on a Saturday. That said, I won't complaint whenever it is taken down short-term for an improvement.Do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth...there is no spoon.Comment

Frankly, drop the site. People will think it is just dragging and by the time it comes back up they will be overjoyed.
Seriously, look at utilization stats and drop it during historical low period.
If you can establish a downtime landing page, place a banner directing us to another location for updates on status. CalGuns.org might serve this purpose.
Manage expectations. Figure how much time you will need, then double it for potential problems.Last edited by Dvrjon; 04-07-2024, 7:07 AM.Comment

First, Thank you for all you do, including asking our opinions on this question.
I would think any weekday might be better because the people you're working with will be there to help if anything goes wrong for the whole work week.
And if you think it's only going to take a few days, I'd say skip Mondays, because younger workers might have hangovers.
As someone else commented above, just give us a little bit of notice that it's about to happen.
Just say...
