How many active members does Calguns have? How does that compare to five and ten years ago? It seems to me a lot of personalities have faded.

vBulletin Settings > vBulletin Settings > Forum Home Page Options > Active Members Time Cut-Off (change to whatever value you want.)

I believe the default is 30 days.

I think social media and the gun platforms they have there have sucked up a lot of the old/new users here. I remember it being a lot more active from ‘02-‘10 than it is now. Even ARFcom seems to have slowed a bit.

Why?

Just curious I guess. Certain forums seem less active. Not counting the first two threads in the promotional forum, its been over two years for a new post. Some forums have a few new post but years ago they seemed more active.

There are other gun platforms? I never had a facebook account, twitter, or anything else.

Although I can't give you numbers and stats it feels like there are less people posting new threads than ever before.
In my opinion it's lacking the 1 thing it's meant to be based on... Guns, specifically guns in California.

I do understand that there are breaking political stories, car chases, questions about electrical issues and appliances, but stuff, restaurant recommendations, complaint threads, general tips and helpful threads, bacon-related threads and so many other topics that aren't necessarily a bad thing but when you have many more of those than you have threads about guns, well I just don't see a big growing future in a sight that's meant to be about guns.

But what do I know, I'm mainly here for the laughs and the occasional knowledge I can learn about guns.

Back in the beginning of the OLL, this place was like a great bonfire on the beach with beers and girls and music.

I am fairly new here but it does seem pretty active however there are some odd ends here that post irrelevant things here and there lol.
