It's also possible that a thread was moved to OT - posts in OT are not counted.
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Are you missing anything specific or just concerned about the number changing?

As Librarian stated, a thread move to OT would change the post count downward.

I believe this is the reason.

Nah. I know who started the thread, and it is not in their history. The thread was deleted.

I am just saying how it can happen that your posts just disappear.

If a post disappears in the forest, did anyone see it?

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

Another way a member's post count can drop is when WTS/WTB ads that they post in are closed and cleaned up.

                      So, we know now that:

                      1) Threads can be moved to off-topic
                      2) WTS/WTB threads are eventually cleaned up and deleted
                      3) Something random happens that causes a thread to be deleted

                        2.
Illegal sales or WTB will get eliminated.
Multiple threads in violation of the Rules can be combined by the mods..
Deletion of a sales thread is very limited since that will eliminate the iTrader rating for the deal so those are case-specific.

                        3.
                        Rare.
It is not "random" that usually causes a thread to be deleted, it is typically that people get out of control and the mods. decide is is best to drop the subject.

I always thought the knees went first.

Somewhere there is a Calgons.net mod trying to figure out what's up with the new guy who keeps talking about guns.
                          It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

By "random", I meant "out of the ordinary". I was trying to be charitable to the mods.
