California is huge. It takes a while to find an item for sale in the forums when the location isn't listed in the title. Maybe revamp the entire for sale section of the forum and do it by location rather than by item, or add sub forums for locations. A search for items for sale within a certain radius wouldn't be bad either.

Location required in For Sale Ad titles

I agree but if our members read the Rules they know that location is required.
The problem is some items cannot be shipped (off roster for example) but
We still need to see what's for sale......

Rule is already in place that if shipping is not offered the location must be listed.- Rich

A lot of people travel, and many items can be shipped, so you would likely have many people complaining if the "for sale' section was broken up by geographic location.
I do agree with you about listing location in the title, but if the seller's too stupid to do that, many will likely skip right over the ad.
Same goes for sellers that put "SoCal" or "San Bernardino County". These are areas that cover huge numbers of square miles, and unless the seller is willing to travel over that huge area to meet a buyer, they should narrow it down to a more specific location.
You also gotta love the ones that use an abbreviation that may not be well known state-wide, or list the name of their tiny town that nobody knows. Then, when somebody posts 'where is xxx?" they reply "SoCal."Comment

Knowing the item is in San Bernadino vs Humbolt county is a pretty significant difference in distance which would be a huge factor in weather or not one person would travel to the other. The amount of people who are going to travel huge distances TWICE(10 days remember)to purchase a firearm with the exception of something that is seriously rare is beyond the minority of shoppers in the used market. I rather have "SoCal" than nothing. Like I said, it would be a lot easier to find whats needed if they're classified by county or if you can input your zip code and have items found that way.A lot of people travel, and many items can be shipped, so you would likely have many people complaining if the "for sale' section was broken up by geographic location.

3) Your location must be in each new Marketplace thread
Whether WTS (Want To Sell) or WTB (Want To Buy). If your location is not given then your post may be deleted. It is preferred that your location be visible in your profile to sell or buy in the Marketplace. If it is not in your profile it MUST be in every new thread started in these forums. Given the large size of California your location must show at least what County you are in, the City is preferable. We highly recommend that you also include the location in the title of the thread.
Its only recommended it be listed in the title, not required. If it was required it would clear up a bunch of the grey.Comment
