    Possible scammer alert

Don't know if this is legit or not..I posted under a handgun for sale on Sat.7-9 and got the following p/m that has a Delaware phone #...0posts...0feedback, etc...looks "scammy" to me...didn't know where to post...User name is Tommybahama300 and his join date was today about an hour ago...

" Hello, interested in the Makarov. But first I need a proof picture (My username "TommyBahama" written on a piece of paper with the gun next to it.) multiple angles would be appreciated. Once you send pics and everything checks out I will be willing purchase asap

You can text me the pictures here 302-583-2260

Hope we can do business, - Tom

I refused to continue on with him

Why would someone who only wants a proof of life picture be a scam? Sounds like they just wanted to verify that you really had posession of the handgun before purchase. It's not like they asked you for personal information or money or something. My 2 cents anyway.

Could be nothing but it also could be someone needing a proof of life picture (that won't show up on a Google search) for the BS sale he's trying to pull on the East Coast.

      Maybe the real
TommyBahama300 asked for a proof of life pic from the guy you're dealing with

There was an idiot here who pmed me for the rifle I was selling. He wanted me to ship the rifle to him and then if he liked it, he'd pay me.

Nothing wrong about what he's asking but the way he's asking it could be troubling.

My username "TommyBahama" written on a piece of paper with the gun next to it.) Turn on caller id. call him.

I had one that asked with a newspaper and proof date next to the firearms. He turned out a great buyer- now he doesn't.

He joined the board about 1 hour after my post went up..no history...no posts...no feedback ..asked for a text which would give him my cell phone...been off the board since contacting me...my ad called for age 21 proof and 5 positive feedback and only a San Diego FFL transfer with no shipping...all sound legit? didn't to me...ad had 3 pictures with it (different views) and I got over 100 positive feedbacks on deals.

It ended the way it was supposed to end. It was sold to a good calgunner instead.

He was going to use the photo as proof of his ownership, to offer your gun for sale on other sites.

                            This ^

                            The other option:

He was hoping that you had "locations" turned on when you took the photos and sent them to him. This would give him the location where the photo was taken (your house) where you keep your guns...

ya on ebay people want to see the SELLER'S name on the picture, not buyer. definitely shady intentions
