I just concluded a sale as the seller with another Calgunner. When I rated him on itrader, I mentioned his name in the dialogue box which can only be seen by him, me and the staff. He nevertheless asked me to delete any mention of his name and it would appear that I need your help to do that. I wouldn't mind if we simply deleted the rating altogether, which was made two days ago and I can put a new one up. Please let me know the best way.

Good luck OP. I will say, I think your itrade partner is overly paranoid.

I in fact purposefully put members names in that section. Because 1) it is discrete and 2) it helps me to remember them and the details of the transaction.

All to say don't feel like you did wrong, it was just personal preference.

I'll do this also - not only name, but also the deal - "Thanks Bob. Enjoy the Glock 21" - because too many delete the details of the ad after the fact.

Since no one can see it except him, I and admin, I feel it's safe. I've done several repeat sales where this information was helpful.

Yup, has been helpful to me several times.

To be fair the other member may have thought his name was visible to others too. Could be unaware what he was seeing was more or less private. In that case I understand the concern (even though technically wrong).

I avoid burning my name on the open forums too.

Some people purposefully don't use itrader for privacy concerns. I don't agree with that either but whatcha gonna do?
