    Hodge Rd. shooters... FYI

    Howdy, we were out there yesterday and saw some new highway signs... Exit (Hodge Rd.), will be CLOSED from 7AM to 7PM ( Monday thru Friday) from March to May... Per Cal Trans...

      If you have 4x4, you can enter in off the 395 side. Maybe not even need 4x4, I just like playing in the sand washes heading in.

          I think you mean you can enter on off of the old Route 66, National Trails Hwy. And yep, it's a little soft in places but I can manage it in my 2wd pickup.

                probably just giving some notice that they can close the ramps to do some paving. they never close them for all the times and dates listed but now they can say that they gave some warning

                    I was out there today, the Hodge Exit said, "Closed Weekdays" and was definetly open today (Saturday).

                          Yeah, route 66, whada dope I am!

                          I wish I knew names of roads and such, I just watch my GPS for "Hodge" on route 66 side, then turn in and have fun driving until I see familiar sights.
                          Jeep club I'm part of goes off roading just south of there all the time, I've just never paid attention to names, just navigate by familiar landmarks.

                          TL;DR, I'm a dope and navigate the area by landmark. I'm no help, LOL.
