Well we did just do a major server front-end move for CGN. However, notifications should still be coming through.- Ben Cannon.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I didn't receive email notifications all day today (I mean Wednesday). Then, I got one or two a little while ago (they were timely, not stale). I don't recall whether I was getting them on Tuesday. I chalked it up to an upgrade side effect and just polled manually.
By the way: I think it might be nice if there was a subscription notification setting between "instant" and "daily". I hang out on Calguns off and on throughout the day, so daily messages wouldn't be often enough. On the other hand, on really hot threads the email notifications often flood in and pile up in my inbox while I'm active in the threads. Sometimes I've wondered if it might work better if the notifier routine could let new replies cool off for 5 or 10 minutes before sending a notification. That would still be a timely notification, yet it might prevent a big pile-up of notifications while actively participating in very busy threads. This is just a semi-thought-out idea... maybe it wouldn't work out in practice, and the occasional notification logjam isn't a big problem.
Anyway, thanks for the recent upgrades, and thanks for providing this wonderful forum for CA gun enthusiasts! I really appreciate all of the hard work by everybody who makes Calguns possible.Comment
