    Incremental Improvements?

    So it appears to me that we've progressed from mostly getting errors and and login rarely, to successful logins with a few errors. Whatever is happening behind the curtain appears to be working. There are still a few sore spots (messaging, search) but I'm able to connect, browse and even reply when the spirit moves me.

    At the time I post this, the site reports, "There are currently 6575 users online. 206 members and 6369 guests.". That's a lot of "guests". No other site I regularly visit (if they report it) has this kind of ratio of "members" vs "Guests".

    No good this AM. It's 0918 hrs and I just got on and have been trying since 0300 hrs. Yes I've been here at the PC that long.😁

      Not good at all. This is the first time I have logged in, in the last seven days. I’ve tried numerous times and I was finally about to log in.

      I remember seeing several months ago about the tech guy offering services to help and I thought that would help I have noticed no improvement at all. Seems worse to me honestly. I’ve been optimistic over the last year that everything will get better but I’m finally cracking. I think calguns will have to be put to rest

      I always thought tech problems had solutions but this one seems to have been ignored for far too long

        Yeah it was doing better for a while but as soon as the time change took place, it's been pretty rough. Coincidental, haven't the foggiest, but prior to, there was a pattern that on average, where there were time periods I could usually hit. That's now gone. ...but I'm still here.

          Somethings wrong with the ignore list too. I have no interest in the blazingly stupid and their posts and yet there they are.

              My guess is currently access to the site is made possible through frequent restarts of the software, either manually or through a chron job or other automated process. This isn’t a fix, more a workaround to make it function. It is appreciated, but traffic as measured by external tools shows CG continues to shed visits month over month. Long term solutions still need to be sought.
