new feature on site?

No problem here, but a new item popped up just now when I was commenting on a thread. When I clicked post a small message bar at the top popped up and said a "new message was posted before my post". It happened so fast and went away so not exactly sure if that is word for word but that is pretty close to what it said. I never seen this before-a new item? This was not there about 5 days ago.

Did anyone else notice that?

It's not so much 'new' as in 'recent;' i.e., it's been around since the upgrade, meaning it's been around for almost a year. However, it is heavily intermittent and most often shows after debuting a new post. I've seen it 'before' a post went through, but such is not all that helpful in that one is unlikely to stop entering a new post to consult new posts.

A common feature in the other platforms as well. If you're in the middle of responding and someone else posts, you get the notice. You can also select to read the new post before you send yours in case you may need to modify your reply.

While I haven't "altered" a post on here as a result of the notification, I have done so on other forums. If I'm writing a lengthy reply, perhaps including links to other online content, uploading images, etc., it can still take a few minutes to complete my reply. If someone else is also responding and beats me to it, I can modify my post if needed.
