Anyone Else Having Trouble Accessing .org?

I haven't been able to access Calguns.org for the last couple of days, more or less.

Yesterday, I was getting cut off by the site itself or so the error messages read. A few times, I could get there, but on my usual 3rd sign in attempt, the site would throw up an error message. (It typically, though not always, takes me 3 sign in attempts for the site to accept it.)

This morning, I can't even get to the site. Of course, I don't wait all that long to see if an error message pops up, but I've reached a point with both .org and .net where I usually don't wait all that long as it is virtually inevitable that after a certain period, the connection isn't going to make and I have to come back later.

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one having a problem with .org or if it's more generalized. We wouldn't want Widdle to feel 'abandoned' over there. πŸ˜‰

It seems to be working, at the moment. I was able to access the site and post. I signed in once, posted, signed out, signed in again, posted, and signed out.

Hopefully, whatever was happening has been 'fixed.'

Even if it wasn't done for us, you'd like to think they did it for Widdle so she won't feel abandoned or alone. πŸ˜‰

        Thanks.

I registered at .org last year during the migration, but was never approved, so I can't do anything other than view threads. I believe others have the same issue.

          Same username as here.

As has been noted on several threads, .org uses a different database and, thus, requires a separate registration. Someone else, a long-term member, noted that if you didn't register over there a number of years ago during another, angst-inducing period, he wondered what you were thinking as it is the 'backup site' for this one.

Kestryll has said that .org 'needs some love' once the problems on this site are worked out. As a result, I'm dubious that anyone is being 'registered' over there at the moment. If any are, I'm sure it's few and far between. It's not so much about being 'ignored' as it is, I believe, simply not a priority at the moment.

Well... I can't access .org again.

An error message comes up, both using a bookmark and trying through Google, that the site can't be reached. (Once, an error message said the connection had been reset.)

So... I guess it wasn't fixed or the fix didn't take. Yep. I tried clearing my cache and it didn't help.

I tried with Chrome. Then I tried with Firefox and got the same message; i.e., the site took too long to respond. Then I tried with Edge and got the same error message.

I understand that, Trapped, and I did make a new registration there. I used my same username but a different password.

I get a message that I have not been approved yet when I attempt to login.

As I indicated, you're not alone. The sense I get, though I could be wrong, is that there haven't been many, if any, approvals for some time and there was one long-term member who noted, not all that long ago, that members should have registered some time back. Kestryll has posted that .org is going to need some love once .net is fixed and, as a back up site, my thinking is that it is likely a low priority. Why? Even when .org was totally down, it received only minimal input from TPTB. It did, however, serve for some to provide feedback on certain things and I'm fairly certain it was kept track of to some degree.

The bottom line is that the site functions, though not perfectly. But, only a smattering of members actually participate and only a very few of them do so with anything approaching regularity... unless... .net is down and out and, really, only until .net is back up and running, then the traffic drops precipitously. In short, it's not an alternative site. It's what it's always been said to be, a back up. Librarian said it succinctly in 2015. It was the most active I've seen it early last year with the Migration Update. Put it this way, there are far more readers than posters, indicating... you're not alone.
