Question: How to find thread from old link

As everyone knows, CalGuns contains a wealth of legal and technical information. Over the years I have saved dozens of links. But the current site does not redirect them to where-ever they are in the new site. For example:

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=1788442

Simply results in a "Invalid Page URL" message.

Is there some way I can cross-reference the old thread IDs to some new thread ID or whatever?

Don't say use the search. That will not work, even if I had the actual thread titles, which I do not. I have my own summations which are useless.

Let me reply to my own post.

Just remove the calgunforum from the URL.

So the example above becomes: http://www.calguns.net/showthread.php?t=1788442

This works and then gets updated in to the new URL format in your address bar.

However, I think there are some other old link formats that do not work like this. I will update if/when I learn more.
