Post count changed?

Hello, my ‘Post’ number has reset/bumped lower by approximately 350 posts. Yesterday I was at 668 posts and today I am at 285. I have been an active member since December 2016 and this is the 2nd time this has happened. Two years ago or so it dropped from 500 something to 285 also. Not sure what’s going on??
Please reply in case I am doing something wrong. Thanks, David

A way a member's post count can drop is when WTS/WTB ads that they post in are closed and cleaned up.

Been with CalGuns since 1-9-2009 and have posted way more than 481 posts? Does anyone update these statistics and how would I get this corrected ? Thanks

Post more outside of OT.
They do not count to the total.

500 non-OT posts get you to senior member, 2500 to veteran member, not seniority based.

Edit: Your stats say 976 total posts so about half are in OT.

Option: Become a contributor and customize your status.

Also note that your post count can go down.

The Disappearing posts thread has reason why this may occur.

Bottom line...
Do not rely on posts in the Off-Topic forums or Marketplace forums to increase your post count.

deleted post count

So my post count was deleted by 1,500 posts why? I remember the MOD who did it but what is the reason I have received no answer seems that it happens to some of us who maybe our opinions are not warranted we are not contributors: I can see deleting old messages but peoples post count?

Contribution status or not is unlikely.

The amount of work to drop large amounts of individual posts by the vast majority of our members (who are non-contributors) seems unrealistic considering the limited number of mods.

Sometimes entire threads get deleted once the mob gets out of control, but 1500 seems high for misc. deletions.

Wild guess, no evidence:
Maybe they deleted some of the old politics sub-forums or similar.

Anything you had that many posts in?

Kestryll or ivanimal would be the best to ask.

Member status knocked down to junior/ posts deleted

Logged on today to see my Member status changed to Junior member, no reason given. also had a good amount of my 2 recent listings in the long gun and handgun Marketplace posts deleted. Did i piss someone off?!

Sometimes the mods. clear out old listings so you might lose a few posts.
They will also delete "problematic" threads at times if you posted in any of those.
Nothing personal.

If you posted sales threads that were not per the Rules such as not combining multiple sales threads, that will get them deleted as well.
Sort of personal. : )

Maybe to increase your status again you might consider becoming a contributor, it's only 29 bucks a year
