On the contrary, the politics and Second Amendment litigation forums on Calguns will rise even more in importance as the November 2024 elections approach. Thus, I really hope the site gets fixed before the Ninth Circuit or Supreme Court issues some major ruling that generates 100 new pages of discussion, each taking over a minute to load.

Site performance was apocalyptic yesterday but fine today. As usual, there exists no rhyme or reason.

Yesterday wasn't loading without a security cert expired warning, today is taking 20+ seconds to load @ page, or times out/site can't be reached...

Seriously, it's like a full auto SAW turns into a rusty old SAA, depending on the day... Since this has been ongoing for months, and seems to actually be getting worse, it may be time to find other site hosting or a couple experts that can diagnose and fix things???

There were hundreds of posts (in several threads) for many many months - before you started this one...

All saying the same-exact-thing about 'whoo-hoo it's fixed'.

It's been an ebb & flow issue for almost a year. That's it. There's nothing else to it.

Calguns has certainly been more ebb than flow for the past four months.

The interesting thing is that it's hit and miss, hot or cold... that makes me suspect some configuration issue that won't go away with a hardware change...

Today was everything from timeout (can't reach the site errors), to servers offline, to fast and smooth... no apparent pattern, just random. No issues with most other sites, just CG.

I'm not a tech guy, so I don't know details - but I think it has to due with compatibility between software and hardware... new server not playing well with old softwate version, but should work with new version... or something like that.

Why it's taking so long to get new version, had explanation many months ago (owner bogged down with a series of significant personal challenges that he posted about)...

Last month a status update indicated it was being worked on and ETA was Christmas...

Nothing post-covid has ever gone smoothly in my experience... societal, political, business, etc... riddled with inadequacies without logical explanation...

Just turn this site over to someone else. No one cares about iTrader, post counts, etc. We just want a forum that works without having to click on a thread four times.

It's painfully obvious that the powers that be don't give a **** anymore.
