Trying to figure out why my for sale threads are closed

Went to try and bump some of my for sale items and noticed all the threads are closed. No idea why.

Have they been inactive (no bumps to top) for several days?
Edit: Yes, 2 months of no activity is a long time.

The mods. sometimes close them out after a while.

Bump them up every day or two.

Somebody locked my for sale thread for no reason

Had an ad up in the rifle section and a mod locked it for no reason? What was the issue?

          Here's a link to it

After a week or so, mods. sometimes close inactive ads.

Bump your ads every day or two to keep them going.

For Sale thread keeps getting closed

My most recent "want to sell" long gun thread was closed. As were the many before that. I tried messaging at least one moderator, but have not heard back. What's going on?

It?s in the rules, which some don?t read:

                    4) Limit your ads to one per Marketplace sub-forum.
When posting within these forums we require that you keep all items to one thread per sub-forum only. If you have multiple items to sell, we expect you to include all of them in one thread in the appropriate forum(s) - e.g. all handguns in one thread in Private Handguns Sales forum, etc. Members may only start one active thread per separate Marketplace forum.
'Active' is defined as 'Currently in use and being maintained', if you're bumping your thread it's active. After three calendar days without activity a thread will be deemed 'inactive' and you can create a new thread. If you wait several days and bump your thread it wil be considered active and any threads posted in the intervening time will be merged or deleted.
Make sure you?re bumping it at least daily to keep it active.

Most would agree it's difficult to bump threads when accessing Calguns consistently results in timed-out pages even after multiple refresh attempts. This is something the mods should consider. It's not like they don't have the ability to use their own discretion since there are currently multiple open threads in the first three or so pages of every firearm marketplace sub which don't align with rules.

Then again, maybe it's easier for "people" to attempt daily bumps when they're weirdly and compulsively preoccupied with trolling others' threads looking for opportunities to sneer and jab. Here's your gold star

It's either a new rule or recently enforced. I'll admit that i either forgot or didnt know about a 3day bump. But, while I'm a young pup here on calguns being a member for only10 yrs and only been SELLING for around 6 years, I can tell you I've had weeks go by, (as much as 3 weeks) without bumping and the thread NOT being closed.

My observation is that this new rule or new enforcement of this rule started after the server and host changes in March last year. But I didn't start noticing it until recently the last few months.

My current WTS post goes back to April of last year but was closed in late Aug. Admittedly because I left it die. I've since resurrected twice since then because it's been closed after no bumps. But the history show it went weeks without bumps and more recits just days.

Not bitching about it. Just saying that previous to this past Oct/Nov timeframe, my WTS posts were not getting closed after a few days/week of non-bumps. Add to that the challenge of the current server issues, most time I log in I get timmed out.

Would be nice if that threshold was adjusted to be a little more forgiving

Seems to be enforced sporadically tbh

Mine was closed but if you hit the red triangle and ask for it to be reopened, it usually would.

I asked once on my old threads and checked later and it was reopened.

Thanks, 9Cal for the pro tip on the red triangle. I didn't know that was an option.

                                Blocked thread

How long does it take for my WTS threads to be unlocked?
I'm guessing they were blocked because I was not bumping them enough
If i've sent a message to the mods but have not heard nothing ...thanks
