Every time I use an apostrophe or quotes it shows up as a question mark.

Well known problem, artifact of the migration to new servers.

Seems to be associated with MySQL "collations" - see https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0...set-mysql.html for more than you probably want to know.

Nothing to do with iphone or safari.

Well, are we doing anything to address this? In my line of work we would have added a patch or possibly implemented some custom, platform-specific fix.

Since the next step is to upgrade from VB3 to something else (VB5, I think), I would expect the collations issue to be addressed in that process.
