problem logging in ??

anyone having problems logging in ? I click on my log in button .....and it redirects me.....back to where i started. the only way i can get in to the off topic room.....is to click on any topic.....then click on new posts.....and then look for a recent post in the off topic room. I have submitted numerous requests to the admin.......and they are ghosts. any suggestions ?

Once you log in and taken to the home page, it doesn't look like you're in but just hit the "refresh" button and you're good.

There are a few different gremlins since the change over, haven’t had problems logging in. But have noticed the , turning into ? and sometimes it takes a post awhile to show up. I’m sure it will all be worked out in do time.

Your password is NOT broken. It's a caching problem with the login process.

After you (successfully) log in the server is not refreshing the page that you logged in from -- hence it APPEARS that the log in failed.

The solution (for now) is to just MANUALLY REFRESH THE PAGE AFTER YOU'VE LOGGED IN (press F5 on a PC). Then it will show the correct login status.

My hunch is that the boss added a new page caching system a few days ago (when things got dramatically faster), but it's not playing nice with logins (and some other features).

So, "When in doubt, hit F5." It's the new "secret handshake" that you need to be part of the club.

P.S. It's also super annoying that the system logs you out after just 20 minutes of inactivity. So, be prepared to do this login drill often.
