          Account Help

I was a daily visitor to this site for years. Have used it to buy sell and trade for many years. I just took a 6 month sabbatical due to work travel and now that I am back, I am having account issues. When I firt click on my cal gun link it shows I am logged in. But If i try and go to any link and post, review or reply it takes me to a login page then does not accept my log in. I have sent 4-5 email request for help with the problem and I have not received a single reply to any of my responses. Can anyone help? TIA

seems to still be an issue the last week or so for me.
some times it'll successfully log me in, other times it thanks me for logging in and doesn't actually log in.

            odd.

I posted something in post #22 that seems to be helping folks. Soemthing to try and see. It solved the problem for me, and apparently quite a few others.

The issue is the same that I'm reporting here.

If you log into the HTTP version of the site, that login is not valid for the HTTPS version, and vice versa. You'll see this issue when a link posted in a thread or on the board itself takes you from one version of the site to the other. Look in the address bar when you have the issue. You'll notice the 'lock' icon change indicating a switch of HTTPs status.

The immediate fix is to add the 's' to http in your address bar.

EDIT: UPDATE, I digged a bit further and it appears that the site security certificate has expired. This may explain part of the problem since most browsers don't like that.

Same here on any browsers so it's not a cookie or cache issue in my mind.

Although if you try to get to a specific group get the login/password loop happening stop there, delete all Calguns cookies then login it will work once.

I had to do that to post this reply otherwise I was stuck in that loop from hell.

The cert is fine, but you'll get a warning about the site not being encrypted when you follow a non HTTPS link. Some pages have unencrypted content (external images), so you'll get a warning, but the site is mostly fine.

Same issue for me on a desktop. Of note, for some reason on the desktop this happens, but NOT on my laptop. Fun fact: the laptop hard drive is a clone of the laptop. All the software is exactly the same.
