    50 Pages of New Posts?

In just the last few days, whenever I log on to Calguns and select the "New Posts", I'm always presented with 50 pages of new posts, even if I've only been away for a few hours.

When I go through the 50 pages, I'll normally see the notification that there are no new posts somewhere on page two or three of the 50.

Previously, the "New Posts" link only returned new postings, not the latest 50 pages of postings, and it was very convenient to find stuff that I had not yet read.

Is there any way to go back to the time were the "New Posts" link provided one with the new posts?

Currently, not all "new posts" even show up on the "New Posts" page. I just posted about that this morning.

I had "old" post dating back to the 8th and 9th that hi-lighted as new this AM.

Not all posts are getting posted either, be it new or a reply.

      Respectfully
      Kyle

I believe they are just the newest posts (more or less) in reverse chronological order.

Also my most recent post(s) often don't show up on the first page immediately after they are posted...

I’ve got the same problem. It says there are nearly 3000 posts I haven’t seen. I changed nothing except didn’t visit CalGuns for nearly 2 weeks after my wife died.

How can I clear this up? It happens on my iPhone, my iPad, and my Mac. No other problems at all.

A workaround is to mark the forums read before you navigate away from the forums.

The link is on the main forum index page right above the "who's online" section.

Same for me as OP describes, for a few days now. Mark Forums Read seems to work but I never had to do that in the past.

I notice that once I open a post, it won't show up again in the New Posts search until there is a new comment by someone else.

I believe the forum software was updated not too long ago. That is when I started noticing it.
