Any plans to extend the layaway to 60 or 90 days? Buds guns has been offering 180 day layaway and I have started the purchase of at one firearm and considering more since it is so convenient. Thanks in advance. I have bought 4 guns from your stores in the past with good experiences and would prefer doing business locally.

We wonder if a dealer/wholesaler offering 180 day terms is actually holding inventory that long as much as they are just holding customer money and coming up with a gun once it's finally paid in full.

Longer term layaway would require a dealer to hold inventory that they've paid for (typically within 30 days) in exchange for a deposit that doesn't cover the wholesale cost of the gun. The dealer also has to invest in more inventory- enough inventory to take care of customers with the means to pay on the spot, or within 30 days, and additional inventory for customers who need longer layaway terms. Over the last two years it has been hard enough to get enough of most guns just for day to day sales let alone extra inventory to hold that would not turn for 90+ days.

Again, because we offer the managers some latitude, 30 days often gets stretched out a bit; you can always work with our managers to see where they can help- sometimes we can.

It's not easy for sure but we've learned to adapt. Again, we appreciate your comments about what you'd like to see us do and/or what other dealers are offering. There will always be some things that we can adopt, and there may be others that we can't do or can't do right away, but it never hurts for you to ask.
