    TURLOCK SCORES

    Hi Guys,

Went to the Turlock show today. It's pretty small, only 1 building at the fairgrounds. Took my nephew to give him an idea what he'd be up against in picking up his first AR. He's a shooter, but not really a possessed "gun guy" like some of us here. Anyway he'd thought it would be prudent to get an AR, before there's more restrictions or price hikes here in Kali.

Gave him the quickie AR 101 class, component vs assembled, .223/5.56 differences/compatibilities, barrel types/usage...etc. He ended up with a good buy on a starter rifle. Anderson lower with bullet button, 16 in 1/9 chrome 5.56 Anderson upper with sights, a neutered 10rd Kali mag, $645 OTD. He had 300 bucks in gift cards, so 345 bucks cash ducats. Was the best price on the floor for a new completed gun ready to go.

I traded off a 7rd 1911 .45 mag for a 10rd 5.56 promag from the same guy, and bought all the .303 Brit I could find. Didn't locate any C&R parts I needed, but exchanged pleasantries with a fella who thought he had some of it, and would check when he got back to the barn.

It was pretty good, not too crowded. Made some new hook-ups. Took longer to process the paper than it did to find a decent deal. PAX

Attended that show last year at this time and is was slammed. The "green tip" ban looked liked it was going to happen and the dealers all doubled their price and sat on it. was suprised to hear it wasn't busy....like I said it was wall to wall people last year.
