    S&W 642- anyone?

    My wife surprised me by saying she'd like to have her own handgun- a revolver. After a little searching I found that the S&W Model 642 Airweight is a popular gun for ladies. And of course the pink gripped version is what she wants.

    Have any of the ladies (or men's wives) shot or own one of these? I've seen reports where they are tough on wrists and she will shoot one or something similar before we make purchase but I thought I'd ask here also.

      i hate, abhor, detest and despise the air/lightweight revolvers. nothing says ouch like firing one....at least for me. and i almost didn't pick up another pistol and/or revolver because of that.

      i bought a smith model 60 snubbie instead. not as light but the OUCH factor isn't there either.

      please do not buy her a pistol and/or revolver until she has fired several.

          She will definitely shoot several guns before purchasing one.

              My buddy has one, and we all thought it was really neat until we shot it. If it's something she's going to spend alot of time with at the range, I'd keep looking.
