    PPT with no paperwork

Greetings, finally registered after lurking for a long time.

I think I know the answer but wanted to double check. MANY moons ago I bought a H&K SP89 in a face to face deal, no paperwork, etc. I double checked the serial # through the SO to see if it was stolen or if there are any "problems" with it. No problems. The gun is not registered in my name. If I were to sell out of state, gunbroker etc, would there be any problems doing that and is it against the law.

I tried a search but wasn't even sure what to type in. I got this from the FAQ section:

    1. Can I PPT a handgun not registered to me? Yes you can. It might not be legal, but no one at the DOJ cares and your background as the seller will only be run if the buyer is unable to complete the transaction. So if you bought a handgun illegally 5 years ago without paperwork and now want to legally sell it, just go down and PPT it. The same rule applies for longguns, which are currently not registered.

Wasn't sure if that would apply to me or not. Looking for a little help. I know I may be in a pickle and I'm not trying to sell the gun here. Thanks for any and all help.
