    In state double tax question

I used search, checked the FAQ's but could not find an answer.

Let's say I purchase a firearm online from dealer A in Los Angeles. I am charged sales tax and shipping and it is shipped to my FFL in San Jose, Ca.

Will my local FFL have to charge me sales tax again?

No, as long as the receipt shows that you paid sales tax. Sales tax would be required on your FFL's fee though.

According to the BOE, the selling FFL would be responsible for collecting the sales tax on your FFL's transfer fee, even though the selling FFL would not know what the fee is. I suspect most FFLs are not aware of this issue when selling to someone inside of CA.
