Close to Santa Monica is more likely, as Santa Monica is one of those wonderful places that have successfully gotten rid of the icky gun stores. The only gun store in Santa Monica is a Big 5 on Wilshire and Berkeley (I think, it's on Berkeley). Right at the city limit. You might convince them to do a PPT on a long gun, and they might know how to do it.

The closest actual gun store would be Martin B. Retting, a.k.a. "you're going to jail for that AR we now sell".

There're a few kitchen FFLs close enough by. What do you need it for? The advice would depend on that.
