using COE for more than 1 handgun purchase in 30 days?

    Hi There.

A few days ago I purchased a new handgun from a dealer. The dealer submitted the DROS without referencing any of my COE information (I brought it up, but to be honest the dealer had no idea of what a COE was and how to deal with it).

Just today, a Beretta that I purchased on this forum from an out of state seller was delivered to my transfer FFL. I called them up asking if we could start the DROS, but I also mentioned that I have another DROS already started a few days ago.

The transfer FFL informed me that we could not start the new DROS because of the one handgun in 30 days rule.

I informed the transfer FFL that I have a C&R and COE. She informed that technically that should allow me to start the new DROS, but #1) doesn't know how to process it #2) the original purchase a few days ago needed to reference the COE as well.

So my question is, is there a special procedure to make use of the COE, or can it just be entered as a normal DROS, and the system will know that I have a COE and approve it (even with another DROS pending)?

    Thanks!

The FFL needs to check 30 day exemption, or something like that, in the Waiting Period Exemptions, Exemption Types. It is up to the FFL to know that it is legfal and there is not a place to say COE&FFL03.

Only the second purchase needs to reference the exemption. As stated, it is the 30 day exemption, not the C&R exemption as that is different.
