Hi
I am a 01/07 FFL and recently ran into a " I stumped the DoJ" question that took a week and the question being forwarded to someone in the Ivory tower.
A LEO waited 10 days ( no letter) and on the Pickup day commented that next time a letter will be used to save time. I am pretty sure this off roster item was for the wife, So I mentioned with a letter the Firearm would be registered to the department..I will say correcting a high ranking officer can go two ways..
I went to seek clarification and the helpless desk after four tries and hours on hold always refered me to a supervisor and will call me back ( never called back)..
Attempt number 7 and a phone call back a few hours later confirmed the Dros must match the address on the letter as it is for performing duties ect.
Is this common and did I miss the bus or what is the consensus on the process with the LETTER? Why not use the letter everytime personal use or not?
Thanks
