    CA DOJ Letter

Who can confirm the following, i just met with a retired buddy, while catching up on life, he mentioned wanting to sell his G45, he finished the topic with, I cant sell it because I received a letter from DOJ stating he can not as it is off roster and can only be sold to LEO.

I have not heard of this.

I believe he is confusing the letter almost every LEO got regarding the peace officer tier system.

If your buddy retired from a tier 2 (school police, state parks, ABC and a bunch of other specialised agencies) or a tier 3 (all specialized investigative agencies) agency, and bought the G45 using his status as a tier 2/3 agency, he can only sell the gun to another peace officer per the CA DOJ.
