im driving up to sac and since 10am past the grapevine on the 5 i have seen 30-40 cops going southbound. city and sherrif, just saw 2 more rolling south...

It can be on an on/off duty basis; it depends on what the command staff allow.

A lot of CA LEOs, current and retired, are going to the D.C. memorial as well.

If you have never been, you should go. Even as a civilian. It is a neat thing to see and never a dry eye in the room.

Most are on their own time but being allowed to use Department vehicles. Could not go this year but I have several friends whose names are on the memorial.
