A LEO buddy of mine purchased a large quantity of of the special custom made AR500 brand level III anti-spall trauma plates. They are flat 6" x 8" plates and are 3 pounds. They are custom made to fit inside the trauma pouches of soft body armor that are issued by departments.
He did his own ballistics test with 308, 44 mag, 40, 223 and were barely dented even with a double hit from a 44 mag and 308.
I wear these everyday on the streets and are actually not bulky at all. We all know the climate we now work in so it's worth the piece of mind for me. They are $40 dollars plus shipping. Message me if interested.
