I have had two first Gen Shield Arms mags for my 48 along with their Gen 1 metal mag catch/release button. The mags have always ran 100% worked as advertised. Decided to pic up three more mags, they are now Gen 2 mags.
The Gen 2 mags would not seat/latch with the Gen 1 mag catch or the stock Glock catch. Emailed Shield Arms customer service, they were helpful and prompt. They confirmed that the Gen 2 mags do to a change in geometry are not compatible with the Gen 1 mag catch. But the new Gen 2 mag catch is compatible with both Gen 1 and 2 mags.
Ordered a new Gen 2 mag catch and a plus 5 extension while I was at it, sure enough all five mags function perfect with the new mag catch. Just a heads up if anybody runs into the same problem I did, don’t understand why they don’t put this on the web sight.
While I was at it I ordered one of their new Z9 mags for my 43. Put 50 rounds through it this morning functioned perfect, but not as sold on these as I am with the 48 mags. They are plus 3 in a plus 1 size mag, my Glock mags with plus 1 or 2 extensions are really around the same size. Don’t know if I’ll purchase anymore of these, but they work if anyone else has been thinking about them.
