Question about a possible fund raiser

I belong to a club that has been a major contributor to the FNRA - usually one of the highest net-to-gross dinners in the country. We are considering putting on a dinner event like the FNRA dinners with drawings, games and raffles for guns and accessories. Our club donates the food and facilities so all the money would go to the CRPA. Dinner is usually smoked tri-tip or brisket, salad bar and all the sides.

How many would be interested in going? We are located in the greater Long Beach area. At this point, it is hypothetical. We do our FNRA dinner in June.= and are looking at doing this one between dove opener and quail opener. (Late Septemebr/early October.)

Have you contacted the local CRPA Chapters? I've heard something similar but less specific at LASBGO (South Bay) meetings, and this sounds like it would be even more relevant to the Long Beach chapter. In any case, events that bring multiple chapters together are a great idea.

This is an event the Compton Hunting and Fshing Club is contemplating. We have been a major FNRA dinner for years, but many of us feel that our money and efforts are better directed to the CRPA. (People laugh at the idea of a club in Compton...until they visit our secluded, private clubhouse and couple acres of grounds....we have been there since 1946. See my post in the FNRA about this year's dinner on June 22. It seems the CRPA cannot, for various reasons, put on a dinner with gun raffles, etc like the FNRA. So we would just put on the dinner and have most of the events like a FNRA but give the moeny to the CRPA. The club donates the facility and the food, and would obtain donations and buy guns and prizes through a local FFL.
