Although the "Civilization Preservation" Teams are not militias themselves, one of the stated purposes is "...eventually to assist in forming and training town and county militias (established by official act of town and county elected representatives)."
The initial emphasis appears to be on training and community involvement. Note that it is not necessary to be a police officer or military to join Oath Keepers and participate.
I consider this to be a very positive and significant step by the Oath Keepers organization. Our civilization is rapidly degenerating as our elected officials make the final transition to communism (or whatever you want to call our new non-constitutional form of government) and we progress toward third world status. An economic collapse will leave only remnants of civilization.
