Is it just me being blind, or is there no thread about the NFA SBR and suppressor stamps going to $0??

We've lost so many people from CG in the last couple of years, many things just aren't getting posted. I think there my be something in OT but the legal sub forums are are not as active as they were.

It looks like GOA is already jumping in to challenge the remaining provisions of the NFA. Now that the tax is gone on many items they posit that there is no justification for the registration part.
I presume more suits are getting prepared by the other 2A orgs.
edit to add: Silencerco v ATF

Agreed, it's sad how things have gone downhill here. FB group was banned, then the mismanagement of the site itself just basically left it not working reliably.
Anyways, I hope some good comes from the tax elimination!!

Sorry to say this, but wake me up when we can actually get these in California.

There is a theory that elimination of the tax will spur demand, resulting in more "common use" and therefore stronger argument in favor of repeal or unconstitutionality.

I just wish gun orgs would focus on open carry as a priority. Guess there's less money in that.

Perhaps not. This zero-dollar tax is setup to re-examine the NFA in light of Heller, Bruen and Hobby Distillers Association. The latter
is from last year and reviewed the meaning of "tax" and what the ATF can do.
            See https://fedsoc.org/commentary/fedsoc...ome-distilling
Then re-read the testimony in the Congressional Record explaining how the NFA was supposed to happen. As a tax. Re-read
Miller, perhaps with a good whiskey to accompany https://www.law.nyu.edu/sites/defaul...PRO_060964.pdf.

Remember (as most people just cannot do) that the Heller decision was unanimous in its discussion of the 2nd as a civil right.
Can we tax civil rights, like say the 3rd or the 13th? Generally no.

Finally, there is the Superseding Second. The 2nd Amendment was passed after the main body of the Constitution, including the
Commerce Clause. It is superseding law, so the CC is deprecated law and cannot be used to regulate arms.

            Case closed.
What about the 19th? Can the Commerce Clause be used to make it illegal for voting women to buy shoes from another state?
